Home Remedies For Excessive Burping





Burping or belching is quite natural. It is the normal way of body to release gas present in the upper part of digestive system. Eating or drinking too fast, chewing gum, talking while eating, breathing through mouth are few things which cause air to get swallowed which causes burping. But at the same time, certain medical conditions associated with heart or digestive system can also cause excessive burping, but this will be usually found along with other symptoms.
If you are looking for a solution for excessive burping, some changes that should be tried includes eating slowly, reducing unnecessary swallowing, keeping your mouth closed while chewing, avoid  drinking directly from bottles without touching your lips and stay away from food that are known to cause burping for you.
 Burping comes naturally, but you can limit your own moments of embarrassment by trying some remedies. Here are some remedies from your kitchen for excessive burping.
1.      Ginger: It is a good herb to stimulate digestion. Taking a piece of ginger with one teaspoon lemon juice and salt regularly will help ease burping as well as other digestive problems. A mixture of ginger and honey can prevent burping.
2.      Cardamom: Add 1 tsp of cardamom to 8 oz. of water. Boil it for 10 minutes and drink hot. It reduces muscle spasms in the stomach and help to increase digestive juice. 
3.      Caraway. Caraway seeds are effective to calm the digestive tract. Take them straight or sprinkled on a salad.
4.      Peppermint. Pour 1 cup boiling water over 1 teaspoon dried peppermint. Soak for five minutes and drink.  Alternatively you can use a couple drops of mint essence in a glass of cold water .Drink the mixture everyday day for two weeks.
5.      Mint: Mint leaves can be used to prepare tea, which can effectively stop burping
6.      Garlic: Garlic can reduce belching. Swallow a garlic bud and drink a glass of water. It is more effective if taken in empty stomach. Crush a bud of garlic and a piece of ginger. Add this mixture to a glass of warm milk. Drink it after meal.
7.      Lime juice: Drink a mixture of one teaspoon lime juice and half teaspoon baking soda in a glass of cold water.
8.      Asafetida: Add a pinch of asafetida into a glass of warm water and drink. Ginger and a pinch of salt can also be added to this.
Proper eating habits with well balanced, low fat food can help curing burping to a certain extent. Try these tips along with a healthy balanced diet.
